Highland Cattle Beef and Breeding Stock

Wurzbach Farms

Brogue, York County, PA

The well-known Wurzbach Farms, breeders of champion Highland Cattle for over 20 years, is located in York County, Pennsylvania.

We have breeding stock available, and offer custom butchered beef.

One of the features of our farm is the docility of our stock. Most of our animals are halter-broken, as the grandchildren of the farm are primarily responsible for preparing the animals for shows. From the age of 4 or 5, many of the grandchildren have been working with our highlands, and it is reflected in their demeanor and obedience (of the cows, and mostly of the kids).

We typically have available open heifers, bred heifers, bull and heifer calves, mature cows-proven mothers, and champion-sire Highland semen available. Prices typically range from $1000 to $3000 per animal; package deals available for starter herds. Most are halter-broken, with many show veterans available. Bloodlines include Defiance of Swains (28306), Jock of Mapleview (29991), Ashbrook’s Blackjack (37363), Goliath (40527), Who’s Hill Barabus (48948), and currently, Apple Hill Dougal (54048). Red, black, and yellow colored animals are often available.

We encourage folks considering getting involved in Highlands to visit our farm. Even if you don’t decide to purchase from us, we would love to show you what we’ve learned over the years in fencing, facilities, hay, and care for Highland Cattle.
