Flagstaff
Gopher Records (on Rt. 66 in downtown Flagstaff). A good place to get ska and punk, and the only as far as I know in the town of Flagstaff.

Tempe
Boston's (910 N McClintock). A mid sized club that has had many shows, including the Skatalites, Scofflaws, Bad Religion, Fishbone, Pietasters, Specials, and many others. Also, every Wednesday is ska night, hosted by locals Kongo Shock.
The Coffee Plantation (on the corner of seventh st. and Mill). The inside area is controlled by yuppies, but the outside patio is a popular place for punks & rudies alike to hang out.
Eastside Records (two blocks west of Mill Ave. on University). The best place to buy ska in AZ, and the second best for punk. They have a huge section devoted to nothing but ska, along with large sections devoted to swing, jazz, oi, and rockabilly. Their punk is mixed in with the normal music. They also have a very large selection of records, both LP's and 7", new and used.
The Grafitti Shop (at the corner of fifth st. and Mill Ave., back in the little courtyard area). The coolest hangout in the world!! Come in, write grafitti on the wall, look through the bizarre shirts, leather and bondage, footwear, and "tobacco accessories" while you chat with Lawrence, the owner. He had the English Beat play a private show for his sons' 2nd birthday, back in 1980 or so. Sit back, talk with Tim, Travis, & Mike (the guy in the kilt), and watch a movie! Tell 'em Dave sent ya!
Stinkweeds Records (on Apache Boulevard, between Rural and McClintock). This is probably your best bet to find punk in AZ, and it's pretty good for ska too. They have a much larger selection of new records.
Zahn's Tempe Bowl. This is a bowling alley, one block away from Stinkweeds records, that has live music. You can bowl while you listen! Bands that have played here include: Against All Authority, Skinnerbox, Avail, Horace Pinker, The Israelites, and others.
